Consolidated version matrix for NGBackup. Individual plugin pages carry the operational detail; this page is the single reference for which versions are supported.

Guest operating systems inside VMs are protected regardless of guest OS version — image-based backup is guest-agnostic, and granular file extraction supports NTFS and ext2/3/4. This is the supported path for legacy guests (e.g. Windows Server 2008 R2/2012/2012 R2, Windows 7/8.1, Ubuntu 16.04–20.04, RHEL/CentOS 7–8).

The current agent build targets glibc ≥ 2.34; legacy platforms in the matrix above (e.g. RHEL/CentOS 6.x–8.x, Windows Server 2012 R2, FreeBSD 9.x–12.x) are served by the legacy agent package line, which stays wire-compatible with the current management server. Older Linux distributions outside the matrix can run the client wherever glibc ≥ 2.34 is available; otherwise protect them agentless as VMs (above).
