File replication

The File Replication (BRC) capability turns NGBackup into a complete replication platform. Every backup job is intercepted at the Storage Daemon and replicated 1:1 to a target filesystem in real time — so your data is instantly usable as live files, with no restore step, no extra agents and no proprietary appliances.

Real-time 1 replication with multi-site fan-out

  • Real-time replication — files appear at the target as the backup runs → instant recovery, zero restore time.
  • Mirror & retention modes — clean up orphans or keep every version.
  • All levels — Full, Differential and Incremental.
  • Full metadata fidelity — ACLs, xattrs, sparse files, permissions, ownership and timestamps preserved.
  • Skip-unchanged — identical files are skipped via the Accurate/mtime baseline, so only changed data moves.
  • Multi-site fan-out — replicate to many targets in parallel.
  • Bandwidth throttling (K/M/G) and AES-CBC at-rest encryption (AES-128 default; 192/256 for stock-Bacula interop).

Configured as a Storage-Daemon plugin — native to NGBackup, managed from the console and Web Console. See the File Replication (BRC) plugin page for parameters.
